advertise-backup
Enables a backup VRRP router to send advertisement frames to the master VRRP router.
Synopsis advertise-backup
no advertise backup
Operands There are no operands for this command.
Defaults Advertisement is disabled.
Command Modes Virtual-router-group configuration mode
Description Use this command to enable a backup VRRP router to send periodic transmissions of
advertisement frames to all routers in the network. If a backup router is enabled to send
advertisement frames, the frames are sent every 60 seconds.
Usage Guidelines This command can be used for VRRP-E, but not for VRRP.
Enter no advertise backup to return to the default setting (no periodic transmission).
Examples To enable the backup VRRP routers to send advertisement frames to the master VRRP router:
switch(config)# rbridge-id 101
switch(config-rbridge-id-101)# int ve 25
switch(config-ve-25)# vrrp-extended-group 1
switch(config-vrrp-extended-group-1)# advertise-backup
